Provide the admin ability to select "default" values for each product option

We would like to set up products where the "default" values for each of 5 to 10 options are pre-selected upon page load. This way, we can show the customer the "perfect" configuration, and then they can (1) add to cart in one click, or (2) make decisions / extra clicks to remove or downgrade some options.

Right now, the customer has to select everything from scratch... it's a lot of decisions to make.

How can we obtain the admin ability to set a default for each option value?
