Overview
When searching for a location, the engine has to parse what was in the search input box (numbers, streets, etc) and figure out where in the world it is. Sometimes there can be duplicates in other countries. For example, if the user only enters "10" into the search box, there are many thousands of places in the world with the numbers "10" in their location.
There are 3 settings that can help alleviate this. To edit these head to the Store Locator app and go to Settings in the menu bar.
Solution 1: Limit countries
If you only have US locations you can input "us" into the input box, and all searches will be limited to the US. For US and Canada for example, input "us,ca".
Solution 2: Only Search by Zip
If you only expect users to input zip/postal codes, enable this. We also recommend changing the language of the search box to reference only inputting zip/postal codes.
You can also play with this final setting if you know your searches are only in one state or specific area:
Solution 3: Append to Search Terms
This will add text to the end of their search query, so for example if a user inputs "Main St.", and the setting contains "Houston", their final search will be Main St. Houston". This can help the search results behind the scenes.
