There are a couple of different methods for sending emails from your own domain depending on the plan you have subscribed to. See the options for each plan below.
Basic Plan
The basic plan allows you to connect the app to a supported 3rd party transaction email provider. We currently support the following providers.
If there are additional transaction email providers you would like us to support, please let us know by sending an email to support@w3trends.com.
Steps:
- Login in to your selected provider and create an account
- Navigate to the API keys page and create a new API key
- Make note of the API key so you can use it later
- Open email Settings page in the app
- Select the provider you signed up with from the drop down list.
- Enter the API key you saved
- Press Save
To test the email settings
- Press Send Test Email
- Select the template you want to test (Note: make sure that the templates from name, from email and subject are filled in before trying to send)
- Enter the email address you want to send the test email to
- Press Send
Plus Plan
With the Plus plan, you can send email from your domain as long as you have access to edit your domain's DNS records.
Steps:
- Open email Settings page in the app
- Select use You Own Domain from the provider list
- Enter the domain name you want to send emails from. We recommend using a 3rd level domain such as maiil.mysite.com
- Once the domain is added you will see a table with a TXT record and a CNAME record. Both of these records will need to be created in your DNS provider so we can verify that you own the domain name
- The site will check for the records every few minutes. Once they are both verified you can send emails from your domain name
To test the email settings
- Press Send Test Email
- Select the template you want to test (Note: make sure that the templates from name, from email and subject are filled in before trying to send)
- Enter the email address you want to send the test email to
- Press Send
