Overview:
There are several ways to add accessories to products through our app; by a specific product, by collection, or through an xlsx file. If you follow the steps below, you should have no issues assigning accessories to your products!
Adding Accessories:
To add Accessories to a specific product, navigate to the products tab in the apps admin. Or if you want to apply accessories to an entire collection, navigate to the collections tab in the apps admin.
Navigate to the desired parent product/collection and click the blue ‘Manage Accessories’ button.
This will open a new page that allows you to manage the accessories applied. Here you can add, remove, or change the sort order of the accessories.
To add an accessory to the product click the ‘Add Accessory’ button in the top right. This will open a ‘Select Product’ modal. Click the ‘Select’ button next to the product to add as an accessories. Also, in the modal you can search for a product by the product title, type, or vendor of the product.
If you are unable to find a recently added product or the product list is out of date. Click the ‘Sync Shopify Products’ button. This button will refresh the list within Product Accessories. Check out this article for more information on the topic.
Be sure to sync your products periodically.
Once you're done, simply click on the "Done" button, and your Accessories should now be saved! You can now view them on the front end of the website!
Removing Accessories
If you would like to remove a previously added accessory. Navigate to the ‘manage accessories’ page for the associated product, simply click on the "Delete" button next to that product name. This will remove the accessory from the product!
Troubleshooting
If after adding accessories through the apps admin and the accessory products do not show. Please check these items as possible reasons why the app is not displaying the accessories:
- Check to make sure the Accessory product is in stock. If inventory level is 0 or negative value, the accessory product will not show.
- The Accessory product must have "Online Store" checked under visibility.
- The Accessory product cannot be the same as the parent product.
- Is the App installed correctly? Refer again to the installation tutorial for the app snippet placement. If not placed correctly this can prevent accessories from displaying to the page.
Adding-Widget-To-Product-Page
If a product has specific accessories assigned to it and is also set to display accessories based on the collection. The specifically assigned accessories will receive precedence and our app will not show the accessories applied by the collection.
